Food is VERY personal  Eating more raw, plant-based foods has so many benefits- and is more than just food. It is making the connection to yourself and nourishing  your body in all ways – including  the mind  and spirit. It is  honoring  yourself and leaning towards  being the best you... while  enjoying  delicious cuisine!

Eating plant-based is consuming whole, organic, unprocessed foods that consists of fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and legumes, sprouts and even seaweed– (sans any animal products-meat, chicken, fish, eggs, dairy products as well as any refined foods). 

 

  • Eating more plant-based food has so many benefits– it is about nourishing a strong body

  • Helps you stay at a healthy weight

  • It can even lengthen your life– and more importantly– increase your quality of life.

 

When possible– eat organic, seasonally and local.

 

Avoid: Pesticides, chemical fertilizers, chemical food additives, trans fats, GMO’s (genetically modified foods) and MSG (Monosodium Glutamate).

 

All foods (including fruits, vegetables and even leafy greens) contain protein. Good sources: lentils & beans, quinoa (a complete protein–it has all 9 essential amino acids the body needs for growth & repair), avocado, nuts and seeds, hemp and chia, nut butters & tahini, nut milks, peas, spinach-kale-romaine, broccoli– and even cocoa has protein.

Raw food is food in its natural state- not heated above 115˚. Enzymes and vital nutrients start to be destroyed above that temperature– and enzymes are the catalyst to make everything function in the body. Enzymes in raw food are active and alive. Raw food provides the maximum amount of nutrition for your body. It has more nutrients, vitamins, minerals and fiber than cooked food and is digested easily and quickly. The body needs the vitamins, minerals, protein, oxygen and enzymes that whole, raw food provides. It strengthens the immune system and helps put our body in an alkaline state– in which it functions at its optimal state.

 

You will gain tremendous benefits by fueling your body with raw food - no matter what level you incorporate it into your lifestyle. It is the healthiest food imaginable!
